My prior English/Writing courses have been:
1.  English 101
2.  English 102
3.  Technical Writing

As a disabled citizen and student at the University of South Alabama, I have had numerous opportunities to write and to give speeches in these regards.  Writing and giving speeches in school concerning the dangers of drink drivers, of which I was a victim, has provided me with the opportunity in keeping up-to-date with computer skills, timed work, etc.

For scholarship purposes, essays were required by me explaining my abilities to attend college, and the need that I see for higher education in order to obtain purposeful employment.

Before the car crash, I worked as a paralegal, preparing legal briefs.  Also, as an assistant closing agent for a title company, it was my duty to prepare necessary documents for property sales closings.  I have also been called upon in my work experience to create form letters for lawyers for our clients.

I feel adequately prepared for this course.  I enjoy writing, personally, but also have much to learn in regards to technicalities, thus my choosing this course.

I believe that I have the necessary computer skills for this course.  As I watched my children throughout their younger years in school, I had them share with me any information that they learned in computer classes on our home PC.  I feel that I kept current in this way.  I have taken a few required courses at the University of South Alabama.  The technical writing class, which I am now taking, requires computer skills.  This enhances my use of the computer.

I do believe that more tutors in computer efficiency for students at this university would benefit USA greatly.

Also, I was provided with a laptop computer through my scholarship, from which I have learned further computer skills.
