For
this workshop, you will be using various graphics capabilities within Microsoft
Word. As you proceed through
the exercises, produce at least one graphic from each category listed.
“Collect” the graphics on one page and print it.
Note: You don’t need to reproduce the graphics presented here.
Be creative! For the tables
and graphs, you may use the data which I’ve included.
Hints:
·
Place your cursor at the desired point on the page before you insert a
graphic so that you won’t have to move it later.

I. Symbols
1) Click
on Insert and select Symbol.
2) Select
desired symbol and click on the Insert bar.
3) Select
other symbol fields by clicking on the arrow at Font:.
4) When
finished, click on Close.
II. Clip
Art
1) Click
on Insert, select Picture, and select Clip Art.
2) Select
desired clip art and click on the Insert bar.
3) To
change size, click on the picture, position the cursor on the small squares
(“handles”), and hold down the mouse button while you move the grid.This
is called “click and drag.”
III. Tables
1) Click
on Table and select Insert Table.
2) Adjust
the number of columns and rows for your data and click on OK.
3) Type
your data into the grid.
4) Click
on Table again and select Table AutoFormat.
5) Choose
a format and click on OK.
6) To
edit, place the cursor in the table, click on Table, and select
the desired item, such as Cell Width and Height.
7) You
can also adjust column size by click-and-dragging on border lines.
IV. Charts 1) Click
on Insert, select Picture, and select Chart. 2) To
clear the Datasheet, click and drag to highlight the data and press the
Delete key. 3) To
preview your chart, click on the datasheet icon in the toolbar to remove
it from the screen (you can click it back on later). 4) When
finished, click on the white space around the chart area to put your chart
on the page. 5) To
edit, click on the chart and then double click to bring the chart toolbar
back. 6) To
insert titles, click on Chart, select Chart Options, and
fill in the appropriate information. 7) To
change chart types, click on Chart and select Chart Type. V. Drawing 1) Click
on the drawing icon (colored shapes).The
drawing toolbar will appear at the bottom of the window. 2) Experiment
with the icons.For example, click
on the rectangle icon, then click and drag the crosshair cursor to create
a rectangle. 3) Change
your drawing by clicking on its edge and dragging it, altering line color,
adding text boxes, changing text color, and so forth. 4) When
finished, click the draw icon again to remove the draw toolbar. Fonts
