Are we still infatuated with the moon?

Earlier in time, it was always a dream to go to the moon. People wrote about it, debated its possibilities, and dreamed about one day reaching that glowing orb. Some people even speculated that it was made of cheese, or that a man lived there.

How many dreams were destroyed when we finally reached the moon. The biggest discovery was that it was completely dead. The only excitement was in getting there. Later missions to the moon did not receive as much hype. In fact, the only reason that the last mission, Apollo 13, received excitement was because it almost ended in disaster.

Sometimes new discoveries are not what we expect them to be. Who knows whether or not our new frontier will be a good one.
